Yes, you can publish the data given to you. No, you can’t break security measures to get the data in the first place. My understanding is that that’s what the charges are.

Pretty much every single journalist who has written about russian money has been hit with ruinous libel lawsuits, not criminal, but arguably equally stressful as a UK based criminal prosecution. (Assanges US extradition is on another level of stress obviously).

He contributed to Hillary Clinton losing the election and the US ended up with a fucking dishonest, grifting, democracy killing sociopath for a president. I liked Assange before that, but I will never forgive the guy for contributing information that helped trump. Comey also let the information out 2 weeks before the election. None of it was actually true.
