It means it’s a “Verteildose” for the cables that are used for your light fixtures., the other sign might be T+T wich measn it’s for telephone/communication cables and such.
Electrician here: L means Electricity generally! No Lights or other stuff. It comes from the shorts used for the different wires: L=Line/Aussenleiter; N=Neutral/Neutralleiter; PE=Grounding/Schutzleiter.
To make it easy to differenciate, L is used for Electricity and T+T for Telecommunications. This way, if we need to fix something, or install new cables, we can easily find the stuff.
