All segregation in schools needs to end. Whether it be money or religion.
They could contribute a whole lot more in tax if HMG removed their bogus charitable status.

Yeah I’ll take that with a bucket of salt please
Aren’t they where the middle class elites go? The same middle class elites that are the enemy of the people? Or has the economic downturn changed that?
And create a class of “supermen” who assume they will be good at things they aren’t good at.
The problem with public schools in an ex-empire state is the same as the problem with having poor productivity and treating the workers with contempt. There is no longer an escape valve. Whereas before we could send useless ex public school pupils to fuck things up in far flung parts of the empire, and we could send the uppity working class to places like Australia as punishment.
Now we are stuck here together on an overcrowded shitty island, made shittier by those self same ex public school types.
Private Schools aren’t charities and shouldn’t be considered as such. They should be scrapped then maybe the toffs will demand public schools are properly funded when their kids have to attend them.
Idk why anyone send their kids to Priv School. The Return is so bad.
Instead of £10k a year on fees, you can dump £140k into a S&S ISA and they can go thrive off that. A far larger advantage.
That said, I’d rather they stay a thing. Works as a huge subsidy to state schooling by freeing up capacity. Also, Priv School salaries are the only thing keeping a fair few teachers in the profession lol. Close them down, and you’ll have issue with retention, especially when the Middle East love to poach English speaking educators
