We don’t want the French. The French tend to play most sports in a very physical/brute/stamina style. That is our weakness. We prefer to play most sports in a technical/attractive style. In playing style we are more Brazilian than Brazil.
When we meet in team sports the French tend to abuse their physical advantages against us and win. It is hard to play our usual attractive/technical style, when you are being beat up, thrown around the field and panting for air.
Maybe I am wrong. But that is my opinion across many sports.
Most of our professional sportsmen are kids that spent much more time playing on the street than on youth training camps. More yoga bonito than sports science.

Wishing you luck, I got Croatia in office sweepstake for France 98, third place! I didn’t think Croatia would go that far if I’m honest. Ever since then you’ve been my reserve team (am not Croatian). I have visited your beautiful country and have met several Croats who have all been great. Sretno!
