No 10 hiring of healthcare lobbyist prompts privatisation concern

  1. This is something I genuinely don’t understand about stories that talk about ‘privatisation of the NHS’. The NHS is buying services from the private sector; be it cleaning companies, IT companies, GP practices, dentistry (etc etc).

The fact that the NHS is buying these services doesn’t mean we’re moving towards an American-style healthcare system. We may (rightfully) disagree with the quality of service being offered by those private organisations, but that doesn’t mean we’ve got a private healthcare system (or that we’re closer to getting one); the Taxpayer is still paying for the care of those who need it via the NHS.

  2. It feels so uplifting not speculating on serious shit like this. Not worrying myself over something I cannot control. People should try it sometime.

  3. Secret plan: Run NHS into the ground such that only the Conservatives can fix it, and all you have to do is pay for care if you need it.

  4. “Advisor”, yeah right. What’s the betting that his “advice” is going to be to handover vast sums of taxpayers money to private entities he has previously lobbied for.

  5. they are deliberately running it into the ground to be able to say it doesnt work and then privatize it

anyone who’s even mildly paid attention to the changes they have been making over the years can see this
