Happy 28th of October to all Greeks & Greek Cypriots around the world. Here is how the island of Cyprus reacted to the news.

  1. When I moved to Cyprus and first time heard about ‘ohi day’, I thought it’s a genuine celebration of conception of ‘no’. Later I learned it’s WWII related.

  2. The fact the Greeks held the Italians at bay for as long as they did was always impressive to me. If there was an army that was brutally under equipped and ill supported it was the Greek army. Lots of hand to hand combat because they just didn’t have the bullets far too often.

Fk yeah y’all should celebrate it. Fighting fascism is always laudable. Happy Oki day, I don’t mind all the drums 😅
