Happened today during the blizzard. How bad this is?

  1. So what exactly happened? You opened the window and a little snow got in? If thats the case im sure you can just clean it off and thats it. Its just water

  2. That external window is not air tight to the outside world. I can totally see this happening with today’s weather.

Just open the window tomorrow and get rid of the snow.

  3. When you clean it be careful that the melted water has not got to outer windows insulation and frozed. Can cause damage to insulation, so if it’s stuck do not use lots of force. As somebody mentioned, you should clean it out because water can cause damage in there

  4. You need to move immediatly, you are in grave danger!

Just joking, the outer part of the window needs just some insulation work. Not a big deal, not a danger to your health. Call your landlord. If he doesn’t fix it, it’s still ok to you. Window might need to be changed in few years if not fixed and some heat leagage at the meantime.

  5. It’s not so bad, if you can clean it and dry the frame. But there is good paint and window frames usually can take some moisture.

  6. Check the outside window you may have the lower lock open.
You should have a window key somewhere in the you’re apartment.
Open the inside window and check to sure the other is locked top and bottom.

  7. That is a Lapland white snow mould. It is sometimes coming during the storm. You’ll need to remove it as soon as possible. It would help if you did that with winter gloves and boiling water. Otherwise, you will be doomed, and Joulupukki (not this Santa Claus, but the real one) will come and take you to his cave. About 15 people are gone every year, and only Lapimaa mould is found in their rooms
