The passport office has been completely reformed in the last 2 years and modernised. There’s actually other country looking to copy our model it’s so efficient.
Honestly I was shocked when I got mine so quickly earlier this year. Uploaded the photos on a Friday evening and it was with me on Tuesday morning. The card took another week.
It’s so strange that this one department can run so efficiently…I’d love to know what they changed/who they hired or who retired to let changes happen.
I got my book in line 28 hours there a few weeks ago, the passport service is well oiled (for renewals).
