Found this on one of the Finland Instagram pages, is it true that the temperature and landscape variate so much?

  1. Yes, it’s very true. We have very distinctive four seasons, the scenery changes very much according to the weather and season. And at least where I am, the temperature can easily variate between -30°C and +30°C. Although we also make fun of it snowing during midsummer, sometimes the Finnish weather is just funny like that.

  2. In the picture it seems a little tame compared to how big the changes can sometimes be. Like this summer was really warm and sunny at some point and now all the trees and everything is covered in deep fluffy snow. The woods at this time of year are magical looking.

  3. At the moment, that is -11 in my town. I think it will be lower in January or February.

The maximum here was about +30 last summer.

  4. It was a maximum of 30 in the summer and now it’s -20 and usually during the winter we go below -35. And spring doesn’t exist here

  5. The best part of *Finnish climate* is the variation of five seasons:

spring, summer, fall, winter and oops? Oops? can happen any given time.

The variation of seasons would be the first thing I’d miss living abroad.

I’m from Helsinki and I’ve experienced the scale of -32C to +32C. North is harsher.

But everything is only a matter of gearing up or embracing the heat. At least thatäs how I cope with this and do not complain.
