Should this be open in the winter or should I close it

  1. Depend if it sucking or blowing the air, and how moist it is in the room. Look at the lower part of the windows, if there is condensation, you need more air to circulate in the room….

  2. It depends on the degrees, i have 27- now and close almost all. I put also a cardboard inbetween on the closing lids ones. When it gets under 10-, i open them up a bit again, so it doesen’t mold stuff in the room.

  3. It depends. Important part is to monitor humidity while they are closed. If you get dew in the windows, you need to open some.

I have all mine closed, but the house is not very good insulated, so air comes in anyways. No dew on windows etc. If you have better isolation, the need for air via vents is bigger. Try and fail is my advice.

  4. You should probably close it. It a vent that let’s in air, and now it’s beginning to be colder so if you want you’re room warm you should close it

  5. Open at night to get airflow and since you’ll be warm enough in your bed, closed during the day when you’re walking around and running the heater

  6. people talking about temps and humidity but this exists for one more important reason: RADON

if you live in a ground floor, or first floor keep them open at all times! it is a live or death, no joking.

  7. I would prefer to have them open, especially in winter, but the smoke from neighbors’ chimneys then blows into my room…

  8. No don’t meddle with the air vent mate. I am Norwegian citizen in the uk 🇬🇧 n even I feel weird without a window 🪟 cracked for air at night even midwinter. Trust me though, the fresh air you have circulated, the less chances your house will have of developing mould 🙂

  9. Open. It’s to avoid condensation in cold weather which become moisture when the temperatur rises.
