Christina Anderson’s husband tells court they were regular cannabis users

  1. One could argue that she went insane wafter smoking shitty weed, sprayed with synthetic cannabinoids. You know, the crap you might end up with when you buy from the black market. In a sense the real culprits are our politicians for failing at their jobs, and The Irish Times for peddling reefer madness at this day and age

  2. How many people have been convicted of murder who weren’t regular cannabis users? Maybe if they’d all had a few smokes they would have been able to keep their temper under control.

  3. anyone else see the flaw in saying that they only smoked pure weed, spent 2-€250 a month and managed to get 2-3 joints an evening?

To be spending 200 or 250, they obviously bought it by the 50 bag, which has 3 grams if you’re very friendly with your supplier – smoking pure weed will use the guts of a gram per joint! so they say that they smoke a €50 bag per night but only spend €200-250 a month? I’m blazed and it still doesn’t make sense to me! How come the well educated judge and solicitors didn’t notice that one!? – because they don’t smoke weed!

  4. If anything she probably would have stabbed someone sooner without the weed.

On the serious note though, I’ve been regular cannabis user for probably about 14 years now, I’m not talking blazed to fuck every day but i do enjoy and ould toke and far less than i used too to smoke. But seriously I’ve never seen anyone get into fights because they were high on weed, fuckers just want to relax, watch a funny ass movie and eat a god damned pizza. Whereas I’ve seen fights, arguments, stupors, broken bones, and entire lives destroyed because of drink…… it literally makes no logical sense whatsoever for weed to be illegal when drink is legal.

  5. Its a really sad story, she obviously had deep psychological issues, i feel for the victim and his family and her own family. The real scandal here is not being admitted to hospital immediately while she was having a psychotic episode, if it was a serious physical ailment she would have. For all the stoners here me included, it should be noted that it is a mitigating factor in the case, its not a reflection on our life choices 🤚

  6. why is there such a massive emphasis on the cannabis? It’s total speculation that this is some causal factor. it’s like saying “well she drank coffee every day… sometimes three cups since the age of 20”, like okay? Correlation doesn’t imply causation.

Her husband didn’t have a psychotic breakdown and he smoked the same weed as her. This sounds far more like an underlying mental health issue causing episodes of delusion.

Edit: after more reading found out she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder

  7. The fact that a solicitor sees cannabis as a viable factor in defending his client from the responsibility of murder, and the court is allowing such a claim with no scientific evidence to be put on the record, speaks purely to the antiquated state of the government. This is specifically coming at a time when medical cannabis research is at the highest rate and quality it has ever been in the existence of the world.
