There was a post about someone asking if his/hers Pixel 7 phone will have 5G in Cyprus. And no it wont.

HERE is the list of 5G supported phones for Cyta 5G: [https://www.cyta.com.cy/5g-ready/en](https://www.cyta.com.cy/5g-ready/en)
HERE is the info from Cyta stating that only certified 5G devices will have 5G:

5G is not like 4G where any 4G device would have 4G on any 4G network. For 5G EVERY SINGLE phone model needs to be certified on EVERY SINGLE 5G mobile network. And mobile networks will only certify the devices they sell officially. Pixel isn’t sold officially in Cyprus. They are imported by Aeliotis them selves as Google does not sell Pixel devices in Cyprus.

HERE is the list of countries google sell Pixel 7 phones officially:

  1. I have read the Cyta link. I think if somebody has a Pixel bought abroad and a cyprus mobile contract it should work.

  2. Pixels 5G doesn’t work here is not because it’s unsupported by cyta but because google need to whitelist the specific network provider in their software, altho it can be “fixed” through rooting Pixel(at least ones below pixel 6).

An this list of “supported” phones is nothing more than what cyta currently sells in their shops.

  3. >In cooperation with all major manufacturers, all previous and currently available 5G models of Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei have been certified on Cytamobile-Vodafone’s 5G network. However, it is possible that some other manufacturers may have enabled their devices to connect on Cytamobile-Vodafone’s 5G network, without Cyta prior running the necessary tests.

  4. Nope. My bf bought his google pixel 6a in the UK and has 5G through his cyta contact. If that was the case aeliotis a cyta partner wouldn’t sell them
