This is really good news and so important. This was not available to js when I was younger and it’s terrifying every time I have to get screened, especially given the disaster that the Cervical Check program has been in Ireland. #VickyPhelan #cervicalcancer #HPV #ireland
Online registration portal opens for HPV vaccine catch-up programme named after Laura Brennan https://jrnl.ie/5940828

Men can also get the HPV vaccine, it will prevent you getting it and passing it onto your partner.
I don’t know why Men are not offered it in school too.

The Cervical Check program has not been a disaster and saying so is a extremely irresponsible.
I never got it as a child, and could never afford the cost to get it as an adult, this is amazing for me. Edit: now booked in
Even with the HPv vaccine, the most effective means of combating cervical cancer is a regular screening programme which we have and has saved thousands of women’s lives through early detection. False negatives are an unfortunate aspect of testing but absolutely not a reason to call the programme a “disaster”.
Anyone know if there’s a way to figure out if you’ve ever got it or not? I don’t recall if I’ve ever gotten it, neither do the parents (big family so they can’t remember every shot we’ve gotten). I remember getting some sort of vaccine around Junior Cert time, but I can’t remember what the fuck it was.
As a married mid 30s lad should I get this?
