Feel so honored to have been given this bell from my grandmother. It was brought to Wisconsin from Switzerland by her great-grandfather and has been passed down in my family over the years.

Looks like a cow bell.
It’s called a Kuhglocke, a cattle bell
Nice cow bell and from the looks quite an antique one. If in Switzerland: Don’t ring it in urban areas as this will startle the Bünzlis.
It’s the sacred cow bell of the alps! You’ve found it!
I saw these things on Ricardo auction site and was shocked how people were bidding on them like crazy. Still don’t understand why they are so expensive. It’s very nice but are they difficult to make?
CHEESE LANDS… UNITE
It’s the sacred Olten Freedom Bell. You can see where it cracked once when a Swiss ate a Sandwich without cheese.
Ding dong
Sie haben wunderschöne Glocken
Can we send over the AAD10 to bring our culture back? Special since it is the Olten Liberty Bell.
Although this one has not much distinctive marks, you could try to reach some expert to identify from where exactly does the bell come, when it could have been casted, etc…
There are also a few books on the bells of Switzerland. Some regions have a distinct shape or design patterns. This bell may have some history, you can maybe find some info on its origin.
A skilled metal-worker could grind down that weld mark and make it look more seamless.
The Lindt bunny that came off, must be massive!
Nice antique cow bell. Would be interesting to find out if it is younger or older than the USA.
