Why not offer a choice instead of going gung ho on it?
Something like a 50/50 mix of dishes.
Regardless of what you think of the motion, the editorial decision to insert opinion in the article’s title doesn’t sit well with me.
The Greens, as relevant as ever.
Yeah with the amount the farmers and Gov finger eachothers arseholes it’s never going to happen. Look at what they’re doing to actual human beings in this country, think they give a fuck about animals or the climate?
Amazing to think these are in government.
Them Greens love their greens.
you don’t win friends with salad.
Well be back in 50 years and this will have aged like oat juice

seems like a good idea, save the taxpayer money on buying meat?
It’s kind of hilarious that people bounce between criticising the greens for not putting their money where their mouth is, and then criticising them for actually putting it in action in a way that *only* affects councillors.
There’s something silly here alright, I’m not sure it’s the motion put forward though.
I think this is the most Green support I’ve seen in a thread in a while. You love to see it.
It’s actually the other members quotes in that article that are silly and really antiquated. Best bit are the people saying it’s unhealthy, I definitely trust the local FF Councillor with two butcher shops over all the health bodies in the world. They should have started out with a motion of one day a week, though no doubt it wouldn’t be passed by those dinosaurs either.
Living through the largest housing crisis in the history of the state and the Green Party want more salads.
Regularly organise catering in my job for events with councillors etc where they sit around saying that ‘all policies must be underpinned by climate and the environment >:(‘…. and then none of them eat the catering provided because there’re no ham sandwiches, none of them bring keep cups, all of them confirm numbers for catering and then scarper, sending a lot of it to the bin…
Why are so many Green TDs/councillors just living in cloud cuckoo land?
Haven’t they implemented similar policies in colleges and schools in countries on the continent? I’m not sure what is silly about the motion. Serious changes are needed, and this seems to be a solid case of leading by example by the Greens. In fact, here’s a news article:
