  1. The Irish twitterati we’re almost delighted about this happening around the time of the BLM protests. AND his name was George too.

  2. This was never a race issue from the get go but some quarters couldn’t get enough of that angle. Was like a call to arms for them.

  3. People Before Profit Gino Kenny was in the Dail last week saying how the family want justice and that personally regardless of what GSOC recommends he wants a public enquiry into it.

That’s a TD in the Dail saying that they don’t trust our Garda Ombudsman Commission.
I really hope that if Sinn Fein form a government next election they don’t bring these nutters in with them.

  4. I fucking hate this subreddit full of horrible cunts. Everytime I open something vaguely political its full of the worst opinions I could ever read, sick of it.

  5. The only action should be brought against the Dept of Health for failing so terribly at addressing mental health issues in the country. I can’t really blame the family for searching for someone to blame. They likely feel a degree of guilt themselves.

  6. For what exactly? It’s a shame it ended the way it did but the fella tried to stab a fucking armed Garda, what do you expect to happen? this is just taking the piss

  7. Sick of this fucking shit, they need to fuck off with it. This isn’t America, the Gardaí don’t just shoot anyone. He was attacking people, he could have killed someone with the knife.

  8. I wonder what will happen if they loose the court case, will we see intimidation and the like we saw around the time he died.

Lets not forget the actual victims in this case were then harassed afterwards.

  9. The video of it is pretty clear with him swinging his knife towards guards and not flinching when he got shot once still going at them and then getting shot again. Was sad event but guards did what had to be done

  10. Nothing got to do with him being black what did he expect if he was holding a machete and swings it at the guards these things happen the whole time in america

  11. From the video i saw he was the aggressor and the cops did their best to disarm him. he attacked them and got himself killed. for some people, certain people will always be victims and the state the guilty party. this family can do one.

  12. It undermines the genuine cases of racism in the country when people pursue bogus racism cases.

  13. There was a incident at the eurospar after the George was shot.
Where a group of black youths had forced the eurospar Staff to close the shutters to safeguard themselves.

The youths shouted in the most vile racist abuse at the white (presumably Irish) staff and threatened them with violence. It was caught on video.

Rumor had it the racist remarks were shouted by George’s sister was that true and/or investigated?

  14. Isn’t this the same fella that, when a vigil was had outside the Garda station, the chap leading it all gave a speech saying the government need to gift them loads of land? Haha. Chancers.

  15. its a sad case, but he was holding a knife and threatening people, the gardai did the right thing and they will rarely shoot someone unless its in a case where the suspect is armed and dangerous, fact around 6 people in total were killed by gardai since 1998, so lets not forget that, they are quite restrained and will rarely shoot people fatally.

  16. It’s a fashionable thing for some idiots, they love the idea of a BLM issue over here, victim culture. Pathetic. The guy was a danger to innocent people.
