20 euros of groceries bought at Mercatò supermarkets, Italy

  1. So, since we are posting groceries, here you are mine. Mercatò is an average/above average supermarkets chain in Italy. The two white paper bags contain sliced ham (crudo nazionale, aka a cheap but good prosciutto that is not Parma or San Daniele) and Golfetta, a kind of salami made of prosciutto meat. Farina is flour. The two red jars are ready-to-use tomato sauce. Below, there’s a bag of dried broad beans (fave). The wine was a cheap wine on sale, just above homeless people’s wine, I’ll use it for cooking. The DeCecco pasta was on sale as well.

  2. These posts are so tiresome. There’s no way to compare prices because everyone is buying different things.

I wish r/europe finally banned these useless chain posts.

  3. That is cheap compared to Finland. The same bag of de cecco fusilli is 3,45€ here. Wine would be double at least. Gnocchi 6-7€/kg. I’d be paying 30€+ with those groceries.

  4. The people doing these really need to start incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their diet. It’s almost always a bunch of wheat products, a piece of meat and something canned.
