Hello everyone!

Me and my sister-in-law are making a Spotify playlist and trying to put 1 song from each country in the world. I’m starting with european countries (aside from the ones I already knew), and would really appreciate your help!

**What are we looking for?**

Preferably a song not in English, and that really captures the feeling of your country’s music.

Also, I invite everyone to list my country (Brazil) song! I’m the one who chose it, it’s called [Águas de Março – Tom Jobim](https://open.spotify.com/track/1y7OxO5i6sfrHXAmUM77YG?si=4895e1f47e00497a)

**What countries are already in the playlist?**

So far we have:

* Brazil

* Finland

* Sweden

* Denmark

* Belgium

* Germany

* Switzerland

* Austria

* Italy

* France

* Luxembourg

* Portugal

* Slovakia

* Ireland

* Poland

* Czech Republic

* Slovenia

* Hungary

* Romania

* Serbia

* Croatia

* Montenegro

* Bosnia and Herzegovina

* Greece

* Macedonia

* Bulgaria

* Albania

* Faroe Islands*

* Japan*

* Mexico*

* Norway*

* Pakistan*

* San marino*

(ps. The ones with * we put there before starting asking here on reddit, and will probably change once we ask the proper community.)

Thank you and we hope you can contribute to this project 🙂

  2. That’s a really neat project! It’s honestly really hard to tell what “captures” the “feeling” of a country’s music. 😀 Should one go for the kind of music popular on the radio, like Shanon, Liis Lemsalu etc? Something that’s distinctly folk-inspired like Metsatöll, Duo Ruut, Vägilased, something distinctly patriotic, something that’s about contemporary estonian experience etc. etc.

    I think I’ll throw Dagö’s “[Teine Kadriorg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxYUlfqvKqE&t=66s)” into the fray. Chill sound, deep lyrics akin to a poem, no idea what the genre is but I definitely think it sounds “estonian” from the subject matter.

  3. I really like trad! Attack, because they use a lot of folk songs and remix them. Also curly strings is a band that I like. A lot of newer Estonian music is so similar to what’s popular internationally, so I’d stay away from nublu and 5Miinust. If you’re into older songs, I recommend ruja. Pretty much any of their songs would be fine. Ivo linna and Anne veski are also older artists that are very popular and beloved. I also have to mention vaiko eplik’s “soorebased” because it’s just a beautiful song.

  4. If I were you, I’d try to nail it down to one, broad genre. Or else you’ll get Romanian dance-pop followed by Finnish death metal and it will be one fucked playlist.

    Rock is broad as hell, so here are my 3 picks, all rock songs from the 90s or 00s.
