  1. En ik krijg maar 0.15% rente op mijn spaarboekje? Vind wel dat ik wat meer return on invesment mag krijgen voor mensenrechtenschendigen.

  2. Why should Banks be morally better than the laws they have to follow?

If it’s war crimes they are investing in, shouldn’t they be breaking some laws?

  3. This concerns companies like:

Carrefour, CNH, Caterpillar, Solvay, TripAdvisor, Volvo, IBM.

In that case everyone who shopped at Carrefour, drives a Volvo or checked out a restaurant’s rating on TripAdvisor is equally guilty.

I’m not buying it. Belgian banks have a very limited exposure to companies actively involved in Palestine occupied territories. The bulk is probably just general debt issuance by multinationals with global scale of operations.

  4. These banks are mentioned in the article.

    1. BNP Paribas (28,102 miljard dollar)
    2. ING (7,068 miljard dollar)
    3. KBC (1,372 miljard dollar)
    4. AXA (967 miljoen dollar)
    5. Delen Private Bank (540 miljoen dollar)
    6. Bank Degroof Petercam (421 miljoen dollar)
    7. Belfius (227 miljoen dollar)

  5. “There is no ethical consumption under capitalism” and all that aside: there really should be higher scrutiny in what these banks and companies are allowed to be associated with.

  6. Maar oh wee als ik een lening wil voor een huis.

(I know heeft niks met de zaak te maken, maar de ironie van hoe de wereld in elkaar zit is gewoon onverwoordbaar).

  7. Meh. More civilians were killed in Xinjioan in 5 years than in Israel in 50 years of fighting. Certainly millions more persecuted in ways we dont see israel do, like taking away kids from parents, forced sterilizations, appropriating full control over their religion, and caging millions.

Belgium invests many more billions with China, but no Belgian is losing sleep over it.

We all know why the hypocrite selective focus exists here. China has 1.6 billion people. Israel only has what like 14 million?

Israel is just a convenient enemy. Easy to pick on. Plus, Belgium’s special interest groups (as in religious fanatics) pushing it to the front. Such as OP who is posting this as many places as he can. 😂

One of those beautiful foreign cultural gifts to Belgium
