How is an airport shutting its runways any different to an airport shutting down altogether? It’s not like an airport is any use when it doesn’t have a functioning runway.
Let me tell you that Manchester airport had <1 cm of snow, a light dusting basically.
Not been on a flight since 2018, and now it closes the day I fly out again lol.
Took a taxi from work today to get back home, poor guy crashed 3 times into the pavement because of the icy road conditions, felt bad but at the same time it’s near impossible to walk up and down hill from where I work to where I live safely
