Germany says Twitter journalists ban ‘unacceptable’

  3. Before musk bought Twitter, people would complain about getting banned from the platform and everyone else would say it’s a private company and your free speech rights don’t apply to it.

    Now that musk owns it, governments are trying to get involved and force this private company to comply with their wishes.

    I’m not taking sides and I think Twitter and most of its users are cancer, but it’s just funny to me how partisan and hypocritical this world has become.

  8. I hope that Musk stays strong in the current war against him.

    I hate what the German government and EU did in the past with forcing all kinds of measures against Youtube and Twitter.

    Imho only 100% illegal stuff (calling for violence, pe do, illegal goods/services) should be taken down and accounts banned. Hate and words should not be illegal and the police should not come to your house for a social media post like it is happening in UK and Germany.

    I’d like the government (especially Executive branch, some court orders are fine) out of the big tech companies but its probably a fight that is already lost.
