George Hamilton was fine other than during England Vs France, where he was a ball hair away from extolling the virtues of the British Empire. Houghton was himself too.
Peter Collins, Stephen Kelly, Kevin Doyle and Clare McNamara are pretty inoffensive and grand I suppose.
I find Sadlier and Cantwell totally obnoxious and Darragh Maloney and Ronnie Whelan are utterly clueless and ruined the coverage of every game they were involved in.
OVERALL Shit
Joanne cantwell is everywhere. I see her more than my siblings. She’s kind of a dick to people too. Didi is the man.
ITV and BBC haven’t been much better. Gone are the days where you could be assured RTE was going to be 10 times better than the Brits.
Martin keown and Lee Dixon need to seriously retire. Ally mccoist has been fantastic.
Highlights included – when Darragh pointed out a fella with an Offaly jersey and an Irish rugby jersey were behind the goals in one of the matches. Classic Irish banter ya just can’t beat.
It’s been atrocious.
The only highlights have been Duff and the woman with the culchie accent. (Don’t know her name but it’s not Roche or O’Gorman), and Joanne Cantwell as ever is imperious as a host.
Middling Doyle, Given, Sadlier.
The other pundits the less said.
As for the commentary team, I’ve often wondered if I am watching the same match as Maloney and Whelan. Last night the ref had pointed to the spot had the yellow in hand, and Maloney started questioning ‘Oh is it a penalty?’ ten seconds after it had been given.
Jon Kenny is middling.
George Hamilton is past it but still does a decent job, was fairly impressed by your man Cathal something or other.
As for hosts, the only one worth a damn is Cantwell, the rest have no business presenting on TV with the asinine questions and zero charisma or stage presence.
Shoot Cantwell, Whelan and Maloney into the sun. Whelan calling Henderson “Hendo” and willing the ball into the net for England

Nay, I am watching the news on #21 dont fucking start playing a fucking match on the news, when its not over you fecking gobbs
They offer little insight above and beyond you’d hear down the pub. It’s very stale. At least with Dunphy he had had some personality to mask his shocking lack of research.
Been shite since 2014.
They haven’t been able to replace Bill, Giles, Dunphy and Brady as the main panel. They also had Souness and Kerr covering games as well as Didi, Sadlier and Cunningham that are still there. Plus other good guests like Ossie Ardiles, Brad Friedel, Peter Reid on for their nations games.
A really selection of knowledgeable football loving pundits that loved to get into heated debates with opinions of their own but also able to have a laugh and could analyze the games too. They’d all great presence and a good chemistry together.
Plus, there was Apre Match too! Used to love them covering the 3rd placed playoff.
I have to say i’ve never liked the Irish commentators or studio panel, BBC hosts have always been miles better.
I like the comms team except Whelan, very negative and seems to know exactly what every player and manager should have done at any one time.
It’s been the worst ever without a doubt, you’re far better off doing your own research from now on. Liam Brady, Richie Sadlier and Karen Duggan are the only ones I would actually listen to, Didi is a bit of a mixed bag, the rest are mostly shite. Darragh Maloney was far better as a presenter than a commentator. It’s at least still better than the abomination that is BBC and ITV, but that’s setting a low bar
