In a lot of the “legal” states in the map, gay marriage only became allowed after a state Supreme Court ruled in favor of it. Even California had a referendum in just 2009 where a slight majority of people voted against gay marriage
Vatican should allow it, I bet they have highest percentage of gay population in the world.
It’s absolutely ridiculous that in 2022 98% of Eastern Europe is still so far behind LGBT+ acceptance.
Remember the hysteria by the western propaganda media about Hungary is the most anti-gay country in the EU…
It is a shame to see my country more backwards than Montenegro with many politicians insisting that ‘it is still not the right time’. Including the President who campaigned on Lgbt platform.
The process is too slow, but we are getting there.
I am against gay marriage. And straight marriage.
Civil unions for everyone=problem solved.
So… Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria should be the next to follow in some regard. Obviously it wont be that easy, but I feel like the EU pressure can still force them into making good decisions in the favor of their citizens wellbeing.

Pretty sure there is no Civil Union for same sex couples in Latvia.
Are there any European countries (besides Russia) where gay marriage is explicitly outlawed? There were like 10 US states where it was banned by the state before the SCOTUS ruling: https://api.time.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/samesexmapoctober21.png
