“Homeless landlord” on TonightVMTV
"It''s not worth it. I'd say that to anyone considering becoming a landlord in this country."
– Jeanette Brown on how, despite being a homeowner, she has now been left with nowhere to live due to the moratorium on evictions. #TonightVMTV pic.twitter.com/oPy2oSYlQp

I saw this and was baffled. Is this the only type of “homelessness” that Irish media will care about?
What an insufferable cunt.
Edit: Gimmie more downvotes! C’mon you cowards! I must be doing something right if the landlord lovers in this thread don’t like it.
If she had gone to Dubai and left the house empty for a year yee lot would be giving out socks that there’s an empty house there in a housing crisis.
Media are constantly reporting on homelessness. Now you’re getting a more rounded story that shows it can affect absolutely anyone
Must have friends in high places to be getting this much coverage.
Her only issue was submitting an invalid eviction notice.
In 5 months time she will be sorted. Its a big inconvience but this is a crisis. A national disaster. The blame lies with FG and FF who made this disaster much worse. Direct your anger to them.
Something fishy about her story. She went for a year so i assume it was a 1 year rental agreement. Decided at the end of the year to come home. Then she says the tenants were on board until some charity got involved. Sounds like she didnt treat the regulations and laws with the respect the deserve and these tenants and charity were a pesky inconvience.
how dare she be entitled to live in her own house
It’s shitty she can’t live in her own place because of eviction laws, but if landlords weren’t so shifty in general there’d be no need for them.
She also failed to adequately plan ahead, there’s a huge issue with housing in this country and the fact she didn’t factor that in when she was moving back is her own fuck up.
Yes it’s shitty, but welcome to the club.
I bet if you look into it a lot of laws protecting people probably have edge cases of negativity effecting someone. But hey. Greater good and all that.
Sucks to be her though. But we probably shouldn’t be writing our hosing regs around people living abroad who can’t file the right paperwork
I’m suspect of anybody who chooses to work in Dubai. Everyone I know who does/did work there is a tax-dodging dickhead.
Edit: oooh getting downvoted for not liking people who want to avoid contributing to society! Lol!
Remind me to check back on this story in a year, when we’ll find out that the second she evicted her tenant, she then rented her property out to someone else after jacking up the rent.
😂😂
I feel like the bar for what’s considered ‘homeless’ is totally out whack…
She should have taken her own advice; ‘do your research’. Just because she believed her notice was valid doesn’t make it so.
I hope the tenant appears next to give their side of the story lol because something’s not adding up here “they were happy to leave and we’d come to an agreement ” riiiiighhhttt the tenant was super happy to have to find a new place during the current shitshow to suit your whims – uh huh…
So then why did they go find a charity to help them with their eviction notice. Charities don’t just magically appear to review notices of eviction lol
I mean Jesus there’s templates online for all this communication so her claim about needing to be a lawyer is retarded.
Having moved back and forth out of ireland a lot you don’t move without having concrete bases to land at before leaving your job etc sounds like she had a verbal or text to the current tenant which isn’t good enough if they want to fight it…
