wait a minute, how are we so low on this map?

  1. Speeds here are generally far lower, so while the driving is generally utter dogshit, the crashes are far less dangerous.

We also have far less people.

  2. While I agree that driving here leaves a lot to be desired especially after having driven on English motorways, I also have experienced outright savage driving in parts of eastern Europe where the risk is real and palpable. On the whole, Maltese roads are relatively on the safer side.

  3. * No one dares to cycle, so only cars are involved in a collision.
    * hard to get a deadly traffic accident while being stuck in a traffic jam
    * Highest speed on Malta is like 60 (correct me if i am wrong) chances of a deadly accident go up by a lot depending on the speed.
    * When roads and crossings look very dangerous people tend to drive more carefully. Which ironically makes for a safer road.

  4. Reddit mostly sounds like the opposition radio to any government.

    Always negative, doom and gloom.
