  1. Keys points from linked article

Qirjako Qirko, the Albanian ambassador in London, said that in the past month the embassy had issued travel documents to 300 of his citizens who claimed to be “victims of TikTok” and wanted to go back home.

He told MPs on the home affairs committee that they had thought it would be easy to set up businesses but given up within weeks to seek “laisser passer” documents from the embassy to return to Albania.

At least 12,000 Albanian migrants have crossed the Channel so far this year, accounting for some 30 per cent of the record 44,000 small boat arrivals.

Mr Qirko said: “The number of laisser passer [documents] this month is 300. Some of them explained: ‘We are victims of TikTok and Facebook. We have come here because we thought it’s easy to start a business.’

  2. Yep. I’ve heard similar stories before for South Asian illegal immigration. There’s a lot of shit out there leading people to believe Britain is a soft touch and they’ll have things so easy if they just show up, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

We really should be putting some money into counter propeganda for this stuff.

  3. Jesus wept

So they saw a video on TikTok about how easy it was to set up a business in the UK and then decided to pay a people trafficker thousands and risk their lives to get here. Without having investigated any of the legalese or realities on the internet beforehand

And it only cost the taxpayer tens of thousands of pounds for each chancer for them to try

  4. There’s plenty of our own population who’ve been conned into thinking theyd have a better life over the last 12 years.

  5. Xenophobia…

A great friend of mine emigrated here from Bangladesh in the 70s and owns a restaurant.

He has raised his family as British and the children are free to pursue religion of their choice.

We were drinking beer in his place and four guys dressed in south Asian robes came in.

I asked him about them and he said “Community Security… here to tell me not to serve beer.”

He told them to fuck off and they did…

He returned to the table with more beer, took a sip and said;. “these are the same cunts I came here to get away from”….

  6. If you type my town into tik tok you can see multiple migrants mens videos as they record their journey from the east to France and make their way finally to walking down local high street

  7. Buying them a plane ticket and putting them on a flight to Tirana, if that’s what they want, seems like a win-win situation.

    Am I missing something?

  8. So what they’re saying is, life is better in Albania…..

….does anyone know if the people smugglers smuggle back the other way? Asking for a friend….

  9. So the Chinese are weaponizing migrants through TikTok.

Like the Russians weaponize migrants by carpet-bombing their towns.

  10. This is indeed true. After living in Africa I’ve met upper class people with land, car, houses all think by jumping on a plane there’ll be super rich overnight. It wasn’t until I pointed out they are living lives some Britons can only dream of it finally sunk in

  11. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they can’t just admit they’re economic migrants trying to game the asylum system that want to leave after finding out the truth! They’re stunning and brave refugees and they have to stay to bolster our increasingly fragile narrative around why we need so many migrants! Quick, we need protestors to physically stop them from leaving!

  12. P.S I don’t know you or care what you say lmao 🤣 😂 😆 🙃 🤪 🤷 🤣

    52 abs died once 🤣 🤣 🤣 though luck I survived it!!!

  13. Look, Loves, if you really hate the place that much – and I don’t blame you – just ask to be sent back. No need to blame TikTok, we won’t be offended, in fact, some of us may even come with you! 😉 😀

  14. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been innocently scrolling through TikTok and the next thing I know I’m washing ashore in another country

  15. They aren’t refugees. They aren’t escaping persecution. They weren’t brought here illegally as slaves. If they want to go home then for once i agree with people who want to deport immigrants. Go. Home.

  16. I think most decent people feel for families, women and children escaping political instability, famine and war.

But young Albanian men who can’t get a work visa turning up on boats is taking the piss. They’re ‘fleeing’ a country that’s stable just because they think things are better in the UK.

I think things are better in Canada or Australia, but I can’t just get on a plane and decide to stay there.

  17. My cousin told me about a kid she went to school with in the 90’s. He was smuggled into England and then abandoned. But what really hurt him was that he discovered that the streets of London weren’t really paved with gold. His parents had been tricked into sending him away with traffickers thinking that he’d be living like a prince. At the time she knew him, he didn’t know how to get in contact with his parents again. I hope he did.

  18. Don’t fucking blame them. If I saw myself being filmed for a tik tok just trying to emigrate to a country, I’d throw myself off the feckin’ boat
