I mean yes it’s a lot, but with current games being +70Gb and the fact that hard copies are almost extinct, this shouldn’t be a thing anymore imo. Btw, this was exceptional.

  1. I’m with proximus and the data caps are a thing from the past. A lot of other providers don’t have them anymore too..

  2. EDPnet lost je probleem op

Ik ben geen gamer, download niets, werk van thuis uit, en zit ook elke maand aan + 700gb.

Zo uitzonderlijk is dat toch niet?

  3. Switch to Telenet One Up, which has a limit of 3TB per month. I pull in close to 2TB on a monthly basis.

  4. Angrily contact telenet. They can reset the meter manually, but you’ll need to nag a bunch.

  5. I found it always so fucked up that Belgium is still one of the countries that has some data cap on cable. Most countries do not have this. One of the reasons is as you said that games are most of the time downloaded, but there are also million other reasons.

  6. I got stadia, but basically can’t use it because of the archaic caps. I am pretty sure the limit hasn’t been adjusted in years and 750gb is nothing these days with streaming and a family with kids.

  7. Try to download before 17h or after midnight. Only internet usage between 17-24h counts towards the 750GB.

  8. Direct geswitcht naar orange, they just don’t give a damn about your consumption.
Telenet on the other hand are just getting greedier by the day.

  9. EDPNET

    35€/month for actual unlimited DSL.

Been consuming over 5TB/month for years now, no questions asked

  10. data caps on home internet are complete bullshit.
especially with the price telenazi is asking. (and increasing twice a year because why not)
there is more then enough margin there to keep upgrading their network as their customers need it.
and no techincal reason not to.

  11. As a 1TB/month orange user I can say they didn’t send Me such emails for the past 3 years.

They have cable and it’s less expensive.

PS. You don’t really need that 400mbit

  12. I always laugh when i receive an sms from my mobile operator saying : you have used 80% of your UNLIMITED plan. Humm… I don’t think that words means what you think it means….

  13. That’s insane. I got though terabytes every month. These people live in the Stone Age. 750 GB is nothing. I can go through that during a single weekend.

  14. Fuck Telenet, seriously. Five weeks ago I exchanged my modem for a newer one that supports bridging, so I can use my own router and never look at their dogshit ‘Mijn Telenet’ webpage again.

The joke’s on me, because since day one that dogshit webpage has not had a link to the settings of the modem where I would enable the bridging mode, or open any ports for that matter.

  15. I have the same shit with proximus. I have an ” unlimited ” mobile contract for 40€. Until I passed 25gb, they slowed down the speed. It was my fault because I didn’t read the small letters, but still a dick move. You could still send/receive mails, WhatsApp messages and so on, but no pictures let alone videos. They’re answer was you still have internet acces but slow.

Anyone knows better a mobile abonnement in belgium that has unlimited mobile internet around 40-60€?

  16. I haven’t had this ossue myself, but my parents did a few times.

As you said, downloading a game can eat a huge chunk of that “piekuur” data. You can go for “daluur” downloads, but that’s usually during times when you’re not at work.

Their other issue is that they wanted to get rid of their digicorder and switch to streaming tv. Which obviously uses internet. The Telenet app can act up and they kept removing channels. A few hours a day really takes a toll on the data as well. Called them up the first time it happened, because they were at 1mbps download, even though their website said like 20mbps (which is workable for standard tasks). Assholes.

It’s high time there’s more competition so their antics can be contained.

  17. I believe you’re on an old subscription. New ones have different limits. I use this amount each month with no warning at all

I’m doing months of 1150gb & 900gb without the smallest hickup.

  18. Wow, til we’re not the average family using 100gb per month. We don’t even have cable, we stream everything. Not in 4k though, since our tv doesn’t support it.

Having recently bought a ps5, I do need to watch out though.

  19. After reading the comments I feel like a weirdo with my 150gb a month that I never even reach (๑•﹏•)

  20. Bruh telenet is een scam. Ik ga ni zeggen da wij bij Orange veel beter hebben maar ik heb nog geen niks gehoord over een overschreden limiet of iets.

  21. With “One” plan on Telenet you get 3tb
On they’re truly unlimited, the fact is you still get internet after you consume your quota even of it’s very slow (512kbps), you still got the service.
So unlimited is technically true… And legally

  22. Internet in Belgium is a fucking scam. The bloody Proximus-Telenet duopoly, really fuck that shit.

  23. Holy shit i just realized why i haven’t seen those cap messages. We have a pretty big family like everyone uses the internet after school hours. So of course we opted for the unlimited internet package but despite that after hitting the damn cap. We suffered in peak hours. Now it’s been more than a year since I’ve seen the cap messages and/or intensive user messages. TIL telenet actually gave us something for our fucking money now i think we got the 3tb one now.

  24. Someone should sue telenet for their misleading ‘unlimited’ bullshit. They might be one of the worst companies in belgium imo.
