SWW needs to be put into some kind of special administration and then put under public ownership. I had issues with them earlier in the year with water pressure. Turns out they reduced pressure rather than fix pipes. Thankfully one of their engineers came out, called it bollocks and got the pipes fixed from the trunk all the way down to us and the neighbours.
>South West Water refused on the grounds that OFWAT, the water industry regulators, are investigating the use of overflows and that there is a risk of ‘undue influence’ if they release the information. They told the Council that this risk outweighed the public interest in having this information.
SWW aren’t dumb. They know they are in the wrong but don’t want to cop any more flack than their PR firm can cope with.
Seriously, If you are thinking of coming down here next summer, for your own health stay out of the water and certainly never go in the sea less than 72 hours after it’s rained.
