Slide 3: The better the education, the better the opinion about Germany. I think that says a lot.
Geez, I wonder why really?
I see the Greeks have not forgotten the pound of flesh Merkel made them pay.
While I can understand people being pissed off (moreso than with the ECB than any particular state honestly, but whatever), this does seems slightly ignorant of the root causes of many of the greek economies issues, a big one being domestic mismanagement.
I’m not going to claim the response was at all well managed, but it does seem a bit weird to see so many people so ardently angry at being given money in a rude way.
You know what I get tired of being an German EU citizen is the constant whining (slide 10). I get that the Greeks had to endure hardships, but let’s be very real they should not have been in the Euro in the first place. Secondly if they don’t like the Euro and the EU, then please leave! Just go on and do your own thing. We in the EU have to face that music that maybe not everybody wants to be part of the EU. We need to ask the question, do you really want to be part of this? Some will say yes, and others will say no. Rip that wound puss away and let the cards fall where they may.
I am not German and I do feel bad for Greece. But it is not all the fault of the Germans, Merkel and the banking institutions. Yes they did a lot of mismanagement. but the Greek politicians created that crisis to start with.
Important to add that the “Friedrich Ebert Stiftung” is the de facto party foundation if the SPD, the party of current chancellor Olaf Scholz.
At the moment, the SPD tries hard to make everyone forget that they were the coalition partner in 12 out of the 16 Merkel years and substantially influenced key policies like appeasement towards Russia and Türkiye or the handling of the migration issue in 2016.
When in doubt blame Germany.
So many mad people in the comments
>For me germany today is King ottos place of origin
Idk it seems so random, it made me laugh
Edit: Ok apparently greece had a King Otto and they didn’t mean Otto I of the Holy Roman Empire. It still seems random, but makes alot more sense, why they mention it
Without german guarantees and the bailout including billions of taxpayer money Greece would had national bankruptcy including total collapse of public institutions, the complett loss of all pensions, crashings institutions aso.
It’s basically the different hellenic governements that gained access to the Euro by fraud, increased spending and then simply pointed towards Germany to blame ’em for the hard times.
So nice from Greece for rescue money from Germany.
Germany should stop to be everybodys darling –
Everybodys darling is everybodys depp!
I am not surprised in the slightest
Wow, i am one of the most german friendly – supportive greeks around and yet some comments made me kinda “edgy”.

It is clear that some Germans dont understand why greeks feel this way and the greeks dont understand why the germans are getting angry when they see such surveys.
Germans : You didnt live through a 30k to 19k reduction on your salaries.
Greeks: You didnt have to pay to save some fun loving party animals that only had sex and fun (till 2010).

So, the past is the past and we should work towards a better european future.
Good that we put millions of Euro into people that hate us… Without Germany Greece would have gone byebye
very interesting conclusions. thanks for sharing 👍
