So people are complaining because the charity simply mentioned that Trans people have a higher rate of suicide/self harm, on Trans day of remembrance? What’s to get upset at? There’s tonnes of evidence that Trans people have higher rates of self harm, suicide & mental health issues, it’s not a myth, being stuck in the wrong bloody body (whether you believe it’s a real condition or a mental health condition is irrelevant, the trauma is often still very real) and having the world largely shun you isn’t exactly going to do your head many favours which is why it’s important to listen and be kind to Trans people, not create pathetic little pointless arguments all the time.
Good on the Samaritans for highlighting a vulnerable group in society and reaching out; would these whingers be as equally upset if the charity singled out and focused on sexual abuse survivors, or victims of child grooming?
Absolute bunch of ghouls attacking Samaritans for this, as if talking about and addressing suicide in vulnerable groups isn’t their entire purpose.
And the sheer gall of TERFs to simultaneously claim that transitioning is bad for people because of the higher suicide rates in trans people, and that Samaritans is lying when they talk about higher suicide rates in trans people, it’s disgusting.
Gee if you can not talk about it how can it be helped and understood.
Just let people live their lives in peace and have every access to help they can have.
just a bunch of feminists concerned about women’s safety
