  1. Jaysus I’ve no love for DeValera but that’s taken hyperbole to a whole new planet.

Had to laugh at number 10

    > He is a notorious anti-cleric

The man who literally had an Archbishop help him draft the constitution, and oversaw decades of church interference in the social and political fabric of the state was anti-cleric?

That’d be a funny joke, if we weren’t still dealing with the legacies of that today.

  2. It’s a printout of a r/Ireland politics thread?

Literally just needs Shinnerbots and BlueShirts and a load of empty mod reports and it’s complete.

  3. A Lia Fáil, gas lads. They were led by a renegade priest and their main policies were land reform (hence the dig at Childers, who was Minister for Agriculture at the time) and calling for Ireland to become a nuclear power, and then employ said nuclear weapons to either re-capture or obliterate/irradiate the North. The Irish Political Ephemera guy covered them a while ago, definitely worth a listen – [https://anchor.fm/alan-kinsella/episodes/Lia-Fil–Episode-22-eltqf5](https://anchor.fm/alan-kinsella/episodes/Lia-Fil–Episode-22-eltqf5)
