Awwww. Poor them. You only have a right to light, not a view.
I’m sure they want all the benefits of clean energy without any compromise; typical NIMBY.
Ah you’re right! Solar panels are a real eyesore!!!
What would you prefer then?
– A nuclear plant?
– An Incinerator?
– How about a coal plant sized biomass generator?
Your choice residents! Least they won’t be an eyesore!
You want to meaningfully help the people? b-but I want to look at an empty field! ;-;
Introduce a tax on NIMBYs, they can object, but for a fairly hefty fee. The deficit would be closed and/or we would actually get stuff built.
When the world food wars start, we will need all the land for food production. Fields should only be used for solar after every farm and industrial roof has been completely covered. Also there are hundreds of miles of road embankments and cuttings that could be used. Panels on the south and south-west facing railway embankments and cuttings could be fed into the overhead lines, what could be greener than that.
I completely agree, it’s outrageous! They’re an absolute eye sore!!! And what about all those ugly pylons ruining the landscape connecting us with all that evil electricity?
It’s be easier and more factual to point out how inefficient they are.
