I’ve not got any holidays planned until next year so I can heave a sigh of relief.
Zero empathy for basically anyone choosing to fly in 2022.
The majority of those inconvenienced will be (despite their protestations to the contrary) the wealthiest of society, and those who are doing the most harm to the climate for which we will *all* pay the price.
The news media will, of course, find ordinary working people taking their once in a lifetime flight to so and so and having it ruined. Obviously for them that’s a terrible shame, but they are not representative of the majority of air travellers. And basically *noone* should be travelling by plane at this point.
[Edit] heheh, people *really* don’t enjoy having their cognitive dissonance brought to the surface do they?
I can’t afford to turn my heating on, so the last thing I’ll be doing is going on a plane.
Anyone know if this will affect domestic flights? I’m flying from Belfast to Cardiff during this period. It seems from the articles I’ve read that it’ll just be the people who check passports/visas etc?
Just wait until 2030 when only 3 airports will remain in the UK.

[Tick tock tick tock, goes the carbon budget clock](https://www.mcc-berlin.net/en/research/co2-budget.html). 6 years 7 months 14 days until there’s enough CO2 in the atmosphere to get us to +1.5°C.
[70% of all flights in the UK are taken by the wealthiest 15%](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-56582094). [90% of all domestic flights are taken by 2% of the population](https://www.airportwatch.org.uk/2021/11/new-research-indicates-that-about-90-of-uk-domestic-flights-are-taken-by-2-of-the-population/).
