Why are we always so lame on these maps? Is there anything in our power to change that?
Before everybody starts talking about putholes and smooth surface, “quality of road infrastructure” includes a lot more than just the tarmac/asphalt/whatever you drive on with your car.
Infrastructure includes proper signage, bike lanes, pavements, separating car lanes from bike lanes, shoulders (vluchtstrook), measures against speeding, traffic monitoring, railings in dangerous turns, drainage, probably more things, and of course also the road surface which affects the grip a car has (safety issue) as well as the noise produced by the wheels. (comfort issue)
Hopefully my comment will steer the thread in a good direction, so that it doesn’t hit any cyclists…
