> Ms Reeves furiously stood by Labour ’s pledge to raise £1.7billion by slapping VAT on private school fees – despite Tory claims it would drive tens of thousands of kids into state schools.
How cute. Won’t someone think of the Tory children and protect them from… those awful places… state schools!?
The offending tweet was an arsey snipe, not an “ATTACK” – and while deserving of an eye roll, the Shadow Chancellor only serves to lower herself with such an uncouth outburst.
It’s not only, ” will something think of the Tory kids”, it’s also god forbid these cunts have to pay VAT. I mean what kind of insubordination is this?
Literally cannot wait for Labour to get elected now.
Just to see the ludicrous left unravel as they realise there is no magic money tree.
I wish more politicians would talk like normal people, ‘fuck off’ is absolutely an appropriate response, and it annoys all the ‘no swearing’ losers as well. Which is a nice bonus.
Labour should grow a pair and introduce a 95% tax on footballers wages to fund schools.
All labour need to do is STFU and they will win the next election. Trying to appeal to the common man by saying fuck is a bit patronising. I don’t want my leaders to be like me because I can barely manage my emails. I need leaders to be better.
Apparently we all have to make sacrifices. It’s greedy to ask for a pay rise that matches inflation.
But keeping the VAT on your kid’s upmarket education, that’s totally fine.
Adding VAT to school fees is moronic, in the same way taxing private healthcare or electrical vehicles is regressive.
If people want to invest in their children’s education it should be encouraged.
Are Labor trying to lose the next election, it was a shoe in except this last week they keep making gaffs.
Edit: To my discredit I misread this article and thought Rachael Reeves told a Tory mp to fuck off after she attacked Marcus Rashford. Not telling a Tory mp to fuck after they attack Rashford. That’s on me
god i cant wait for the next election. i honestly dont give a fuck who wins as long as we kick these tory fucking scum out
its great news – watch how fast funding for state schools goes up
There’s a lot of parents struggling to keep their kids in private schools, they are the ones it’ll affect not the ones earning £300,000 a year+ with cash in the bank. If rather see a super VAT rate for the rich, say 25% on real luxury goods like watches and jewellery over £2000, boats over £100,000, cars over £75,000 hotel rooms over £250 per night including business use. Holidays over £2000 per person per week, business and first class flights, private jets and many more. I mean if you buy a £50,000,000+ VAT Sunseeker yacht you won’t decide not to buy it for an extra £2.5 million because you’ve probably got another £100m in the bank. But also that 5% would NOT be reclaimable by suppliers of items and parts supplied. So it’s a true 5% luxury tax, that’s without what I’d do on non Dom, so called legal tax evasion and offshore companies, Amazon, Google, Apple etc.
I really like Rachel Reeves, finally a politician who says it like it is and is in touch with reality.
Appears that Labour Party is trying to win over the general public by pretending to be better than their main rival – conveniently forgetting about allegations of Anti Semitism and Blair’s involvement in the invasion of Iraq et al – whereas the Conservatives haven’t fared better with Partygate, Hancock’s shenanigans and a lot more.
Had those secretaries and ministers in Government performed to a good standard, Mr. Marcus Rashford needn’t have taken the time to campaign for this in the first place.
