6 years is an unreasonable time to wait for the conclusion of a case for everyone involved. The victims, their family, the accused and the public.
The government have to fund the judicial system more.
The article is somewhat confusing, but if I’m reading it correctly, the police officer didn’t crash/didn’t hit anyone, the deaths were caused by the fleeing vehicle? Seems the right decision. Continuing the pursuit is possibly something he should answer for in a professional sense, but if legally holding him responsbile for the crash caused by the vehicle that failed to stop is harsh imo.
Had he been found guilty it would have basically banned the police from pursuing anyone.
The right result. But SIX YEARS to get to this conclusion?!?!?! During which this officer (who’s done nothing wrong) has been suspended from duty, worried for his career and freedom?
Wow let’s blame the copper because of the actions of the actual criminals. What a waste of time and money
What’s staggering is that someone in the CPS clearly thought that prosecution was in the public interest here…
“Police officers don’t even try to catch criminals anymore”
/*police officer tries to catch criminal…
/*criminal kills child trying to escape.
/*6 year investigation trying to find police officer guilty of wrongdoing
/*after being acquitted, journalist words headline to make it sound like police officer killed a child and got off.
