  1. Most of these types of maps are plotting data across the EU, which we are not a part of, so it doesn’t bother me at all.

  2. It’s actually the other way around. I’m annoyed that other countries are not showing no data like switzerland.

  3. That’s because what you are looking at is lake in the middle of Europe.

    Switzerland doesn’t actually exist.

  4. I think this is just due to the fact that a lot of data is just simply being retrieved from some EU institutions. Many oeranisations seem to be just not bothering about asking also small Switzerland for data.

  5. u/OP could you maybe provide some context?

There are a boatload of maps copntaining all the information but if you’re looking up maps that are EU specific then yes there’s no data on a lot of countries not in the EU.

  6. Yes, especially if you have to work with data for Europe in general and there’s always a hole in the middle of it because Switzerland doesn’t participate in Eurostat data harmonisation. So even if you do get the swiss data half the time it doesn’t match anyway because it’s collected differently 🙁

  7. No. It means no one has spoken and all of our secrets are still safe.

Except those HDI guys. We’ll need to find them and deal with them.

  8. This map where you took your screenshoot is about the European Union. Personally when it’s clearly mentioned its about the European Union (and not the Europe as a whole). I’m okay with it. UK and Norway have no data either
