  1. That’s one done, many hundreds of corrupt Tories to go.

One does wonder, whose chips she pissed in to have been dropped by her own kind?

  2. Definitely using her to take the fall. All the rest are off scott free seeing they’ve closed down the fraud investigatory body.

    >A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Social Care said: “Due diligence was carried out on all companies that were referred to the department and every company was subjected to the same checks.

Yet there were billions in covid fraud so their due diligence counted for squat. Who knows, maybe they were getting backhanders/favours.

  3. She didn’t lose the whip because of the investigation and allegations. She lost the whip because of:

    > Number 10 later confirmed Baroness Mone had lost the whip as a result of her taking a leave of absence.

So it is okay to be investigated (and do) for fraud, but not to take a leave of absence.

  4. She’s already won by the sounds of it that money will never go back into public funds anyone who votes tory needs their head checking

  5. I look forward to nothing happening to her and the tax payer getting none of its money back and all mps involved in the scandal keeping their jobs. Great effort lads

  6. Why would a life-long peer give a crap about the whip or party-affiliation? Disclaimer: Lords noob.

  7. The tories are walking on thin ice over this potential scandal as there will be a little black book with quite a few of their names in it

  8. The Tories are shocked, shocked I say, to learn that their VIP lane for Tory insiders was abused by Tory insiders.

  9. The entire whip system is bullshit. It’s based on lies and subversion of the rules from the start…take for example the “three line” whip. That exists because you cannot threaten MP’s to vote a certain way…but you can *imply* a threat by triple underlining something to let them know you want them to vote a certain way, or else…

The entire reason we dont have PR is to preserve the fiction that each MP directly represents their constituents (which is also why you cant call them a liar, because it would imply their constituents are liars….) but the whip system totally undermines it.

Frankly the levels of contrivance and bullshit that make up the entirety of Westminster are absurd.

  10. Make no mistake this was a tactical decision to preserve her position and take heat off the government too ; with this situation both the government can give the appearance that necessary steps have been taken and that the situation will be investigated and determined independently.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the investigation is dropped or wrongdoing is found but a slap on the wrist and she maintains her position in the house of lords
