Hello! I was recently in Munich and a family friend drove from Austria to deliver these cakes to us. He said they were traditional Austrian christmas cakes… I have tried searching online but cannot find anything similar.
He said we should visit him and watch them get made. Apparently it is a big tradition.
I think they look like long sloths.
I brought 3 of them to the UK to share with my British family but do not know how long they will last. If anyone knows how long to keep them for, beforenthey go bad, that would be a great help!

It’s Kletzenbrot and there are tons of different recipes. It keeps a few weeks (up to 5 weeks or so) if you wrap it in cling film.

Ich hab dann natürlich auch gegoogled. Früchte und Nüsse sollen
drinnen sein. Ich kenn das jedoch gar nicht hier in Wien – vielleicht
ist es stärker regional westlich von Wien?
