They might not have voted hoping for this particular outcome, but they definitely voted for this.
I’m sure they can reapply to join the EU.
They absolutely did vote for this.
These people are literally just MAGA nuts under a different brand and flag. According to the article they still haven’t figured it out.
There are those who learn the hard way, then there are those who have to slam their dick in the doorway 15 times or until it falls off completely for them to realize it might have been a bad idea but they still wont be entirely sure where they went wrong.
Makes me think of a meme that goes “we squint at the sun because it is bright, we squint at people because they are not.”
” I got some video sent to me the other night of immigrants in this hotel outside playing football at midnight with the floodlights on and drinking coffee, and that just rankles with people.”
– How dare they! Playing footbal? Drinking coffee?
And I love how they complain about left learning, while having a huge problem with underfunded health care system and social policies.
Also I thought they watered down their green policies and it was one of the things that brexit enabled?
But to be fair I dont understand the curent UK political situation I just found the comment hilarious.
The promises of politicians…
Yes you did
But they did vote for this
If the people they’ve interviewed are anything to go by then the UK is as conflicted & disordered as it was leading up to the Brexit vote.
The appear more concerned about who has a particular constellation of buzzwords than the actual policy details of the policies they want.
>“Immigration is one of the main issues from Brexit that people just don’t feel has been sorted out at all”
Well it’s too much hassle for EU people to come do the work now, so workers are going to have to come from somewhere. It’s hardly the fault of those people that do come to work.
>“People feel abandoned by both parties,” she says. “And I voted for Brexit, but what we’ve got isn’t what people voted for. It doesn’t seem to have happened as it was promised. I think a lot of people feel like that.”
What was promised was impossible, an unworkable & illegal mix of options that could not be offered. Plenty of people on-line & in-print spelled that out. It’s not their fault 52% of the UK didn’t listen to sense.
> He calls the Conservatives “Consocialists” and says the two main parties are indistinguishable in the bland left-of-centre ground
Not accurate. It’s exactly the misleading use of plain, already defined words that was used to propagandise Brexit.
>“I want the Tories out. I want them destroyed. I think they have ruined our economy. Don’t underestimate us. They have deeply, deeply damaged this country. I am 58. The country has never been in a worse state.”
Entirely accurate, ‘stopped clock …’
The whole article is a depressing read of people misdiagnosing their own very urgent national problems. They’re fucked for decades if the scales don’t fall from their eyes soon.
If all they see is Left vs Right, that will never happen.
They did vote for Brexit.. it just so happens that their masters are laughing all the way to the bank as a result and have never given a shit about their peasant citizens.
