I always liked the 50 pence piece and the 50 pound note was so big it was like half a sheet of A4… Very much felt like a certificate from the government.
I had a pound coin robbed from my car I had it about 15 years it was a somewhat “lucky” thing if you’re into that kinda thing and some fucking ball bag robbed it out of my car where do you even get them now

I had the bottom line growing up I wish we still had those coins haha
I thought there was a special Dublin 50p piece from memory?
I’ve had the one with the chicken my whole life, it’s from 1968. Little hole in it so it sits on my house keys
in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ’em. “Gimme five bees for a quarter,” you’d say

We put a fair amount of the old pennies into fag machines when the pound coin was launched. Good times.
We had beautiful money didn’t we. It meant something more than it’s monetary value unlike the euro.
a fellow collector, shame these arent worth all that much but ive got heaps of these coins going back as far as the free state.
The 50p is still my favourite
The 20p piece is it worth money now? Someone told me one of them with a certain date is worth a few Bob but I didn’t really believe them.
