This is nothing new! UK/Aus/NZ/Can all have recruiting campaigns and protocols in place.
With the better pay and better weather in Aus can’t say I blame them. Starting wage over here is around £47kish from memory. One thing to note Perth is literally the most isolated major city in the world though.
So it is OK for the UK us not to train enough people and suck up the talent from elsewhere (nurses, doctors, butchers, chefs, you name it).
But when someone else dares to do the same, it’s pearl clutching at dawn?
Good grief.
Traditional view appears to be that you can pay public sector workers a pittance because they’re exceptions to the ‘market’. Turns out, in a globalised world, that’s no longer the case.
Shortage of police officers, shortage of teachers, shortage of nurses. Good luck to every single person who seeks to get out.
