From clapping for the nurses to blaming them for everyone’s problems, this government truly has no moral compass and no low it won’t sink to, especially after all the pressure they had to deal with during Covid
I hope this is the last straw for the British public to realise how despicable they are. The NHS was one of the few things we have to be proud of and most Brits agree on that at least.
Nurses pay has never been a question of money. Its always been a question of political will.
In 2013, just as the country was coming out of the most brutal recession in decades, the Conservative had a think about what to fund and decided to give the finger to every “essential” public service worker and instead [bung billions to corporations](https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/mar/20/budget-2013-corporation-tax-cut) as tax cuts.
They COULD bring NHS staff wages back to where they were , in real terms, in 2010.
They DON’T want to, as a matter of principle, whether the money is there or not.
Changing doctors pension rules, freezing nurses pay, the 2012 Health and Social Care Act, chronic understaffing – all this is just to create plausible deniability.
These policies will continue as long as the British Public hate immigration more than they love the NHS and as long as they hate “scroungers” more than they support a social security system that allows people in need to live in dignity.
i.e. so long as the British public keeps on electing Conservative governments.
The two parties are not the same.
there is so much rotten here.
1. an extra £350 million a week for the NHS.
2. Clap for NHS.
Fuck the Tories, and any party who would not
1. Give their full support to these strikes
2. Give the NHS a pay rise.
Not one person is going to accept that nurses are more to blame for the problems in the NHS than the people responsible for running the NHS and if the government don’t see this then we’re in even more trouble than I thought.
Are they going to ignore the fact that nurses are leaving because of how the Tories have run the NHS? Will they ignore the consistent underfunding that has occurred under their leadership? What about the £350m a week the NHS was supposed to get as a result of Brexit?
Blaming the nurses makes a great headline but nothing changes the fact that they have born the brunt of Tory policy on the NHS and it frankly amazing they have not gone on strike before now. Plenty of idiots will eat this up but I would challenge anyone who sincerely thinks nurses are at fault to spend a shift or two on the ward and see for themselves.
I’m a nurse.
I voted to strike, but as I work in one of the “life-preserving” areas will not be taking strike action.
After 30+ years of clinical working, to have been brought to the point where I’ve even contemplated industrial action breaks my heart.
But unless the NHS is placed front and centre of the government’s priorities, it will fail. And that failure will be soon. It will be total. And it will be irreversible.
This government’s solution will be to bring in the private sector.
I don’t want to nurse in private healthcare. I will not work in private healthcare.
Many of the patients I’ve nursed over the years wouldn’t have been able to afford private healthcare. I couldn’t afford private healthcare.
A model of healthcare delivery that prioritises care based on ability to pay, rather than clinical need is morally indefensible. It will widen health inequalities. It will disproportionately impact the poorest in our society.
We can not allow the government to continue down this path it has chosen. Make no mistake, it has chosen managed decline. It is an ideological choice.
They must be stopped. Before it is too late.
Anything but integrity, accountability, honour, or honesty. Anything but public service.
Abusive people always blame the people they abusing, for the abuse that are dishing out to their victims.

The public needs to dangle these politicians over Westminster bridge. If they destroy the nhs then they need to be thrown off it.
Remember how much money they have for bailouts and wars should say everything when they claim they have no money!.
Shame on them!.
They think they can bamboozle the tax payers.
Well they can’t blame the EU anymore so let’s attack the nurses. What a bunch of dimwits
What happened to the 350 mil on the bus
This man just vowed war on nhs unions. The red tory twat

They DON’T want to, as a matter of principle, whether the money is there or not.
As an example, only last year the UK Minister of State for Mental Health exoressed “[pleasant surprise](https://mothership.sg/2021/03/uk-nurses-pay-raise-angry/)” at nurses getting even a derisory 1% rise.
The aim is to degrade the NHS to the point where they can claim “the only solution” is a brutal US style system.
‘[Starve the Beast](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starve_the_beast)’ is the name of this strategy.
