After a period of cold weather and wind “drought”,wind power output in Germany has massively increased the last 2 days. Combined with warmer weather and higher French nuclear output, this will lead to a large fall in gas consumption this week

also, the period of holidays will see lower gas consumption due to factories being closed/workers being on vacation, and LNG shipments will start trickling in as well
the event we had last week of gas storage falling 1% per workday was pretty much bad, bad luck

this assessment is not just mine
TTF gas prices fell massively on Friday and today as well due to warmer than normal weather forecast + high wind speeds across Western Europe
so at least until middle january we could get back to a storage withdrawal of 0.5% per day
Where can we see how the French Nuclear plant opening is going? The artikcle seems a bit vague about it.
That’s only electricity though, a lot of german houses are heated using gas, where it cannot easily replaced by other sources. This should decrease as well in the next days as the temperatures rise.
Another factor that shouldn’t be underestimated: while Germany’s homes are mostly heated with natural gas, many suburban houses have solar thermal panels to supplement the gas heating. Those are doing basically nothing right now, in the darkest week of the year, but they’ll make a low but significant contribution once the days get longer again.
I would expect the current German consumption to be around 80 GW. The scale shows a max at 20 GWh.
Why is a production output shown in Wh rather than in W ?
Who told you that? Industries need gas.
