I still think this trend of attempting to vandalise cultural treasures to draw attention to global warming was a stupid idea. I mean they say it gets people talking, but when all their talking about is “see the climate protesters are idiots” then it probably does more damage than good.
It’s a bit of a clickbait title, minor damage to frame and varnish, £1000 worth.

So these protesters used petroleum based products to damage an art frame in protest of using oil? Just wait until they find out that almost 99% of pharmaceuticals are petrochemicals.

One aspect of their protest could also be that the national gallery had a bbp sponsorship for 30 years up until earlier this year.
