Just Stop Oil: Protesters guilty of damaging John Constable masterpiece

  1. My only reactions are that these people are utterly moronic, and only distrust everything they have to say. How can such a miniscule intellect be expected to understand the science behind climate change? More like they are drama students who have found a way to advertise themselves.

  2. Whatever you think of fine art, many, many people including me love it. There will never be another John Constable and another haywain. I get we are one world and we need to protect it but please damage something BP own instead

  3. The smug look on her face. Makes me want to sell my 1 litre Toyota Aygo and go out and buy a big American truck with an 8-litre diesel engine just to piss her off

  4. Why didn’t they just print off something bigger that didn’t need tape?

Or you know, protest somewhere that makes sense, a private runway, BP office stuff like that.

  5. this makes me anti-protester, and makes it harder to talk seriously about climate change.

i don’t want to be associated with anything these clowns do.

  6. Yeah well this was inevitable.

I still think this trend of attempting to vandalise cultural treasures to draw attention to global warming was a stupid idea. I mean they say it gets people talking, but when all their talking about is “see the climate protesters are idiots” then it probably does more damage than good.

  7. Stupid bastards . With intelligence they’d have worked out something with more of an impact .

  8. Again, what is this accomplishing? Your getting attention but you’re not forcing change. You’re just wasting time causing pointless vandalism. At least when unions disrupt the system and strike they’re causing their bosses to lose money but this shit isn’t doing anything remotely close to that.

This lot HAVE to be plants to make climate activists look bad.

  9. The capitalist global economy guilty of destroying the world and threatening the survival of the human race.

  10. “Hunt also said she aimed to “inspire others”, suggesting she “brought hope” to a group of schoolchildren who she said had clapped and cheered in the gallery at the end of her public address.”

And I always thought claiming “everyone clapped” was just a meme lol

  11. Never understood the “at least you’re talking about them” argument.

Yeah. They’re calling you an idiot. The people that support your cause are saying “how does this help?” and the people that oppose your cause are using this as evidence that your whole movement is insane. You are literally just making everything worse.

At least attack something that’s actually causing problems instead of some old paintings.

  12. So these protesters used petroleum based products to damage an art frame in protest of using oil? Just wait until they find out that almost 99% of pharmaceuticals are petrochemicals.
