“Hate, hate, hate!” Why are minors taught to hate in Azerbaijani schools?

  1. Google translate:

**”Love for the country, hate for the enemy, hate, hate!” – Those who visit the Natural Sciences High School (TTEL) in Sumgayit from half past eight in the morning on school days can hear this slogan.**

If the weather is good on a school day, schoolchildren line up, play sports, listen to a short speech about patriotism by the organizing teachers, and chant some slogans. Later, students enter the school to the sound of various patriotic songs. The national anthem is added to this routine on Mondays of the week. According to teachers and schoolchildren, only cold and rainy weather can violate this rule.

However, such slogans, which are said to be related to patriotism and contain signs of hatred, aggression, and xenophobia, are not only voiced in TTEL.

Pupils, children and their parents studying in various schools and kindergartens of the city report that teachers and tutors teach and repeat some slogans and expressions daily in order to instill patriotism in children.

Some parents believe that it is wrong to teach children such slogans and texts, while many think that “these slogans are related to patriotism, there is nothing wrong with that.”

So, what is the need for 5-year-old kindergarten children or 6-year-old schoolchildren to master such words as “hate”, “revenge” and others? How can such an approach affect the subsequent life of a person formed in such an educational system?

Pedagogical psychologists who work with children say that instilling hatred in children is “very risky, someone who grows up being indoctrinated with hate speech becomes a warrior and can kill people.”

BBC News Azerbaijani-speaking educational issues, political as well as conflict analysts call this a “wrong approach” from both a pedagogical and political point of view, “a step that will seriously affect children’s personality that will be formed in the future”, “schools’ departure from their assigned mission” and “politics “bringing to school”.

The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan has not commented on the effects of inculcating hate speech on children’s future personality development. However, the institution said that in the materials used during teaching, many important points are taken into account, starting with the age characteristics of the students, and that in the prepared teaching materials, the expectation of nationality, secularity and value orientation, non-discrimination and other such issues are kept in mind.

  2. Well, if you deny having murdered a ton of armenians, I would expect that its ok to teach them to love armenians.
Oh no, I wouldn’t expect that lol.

  3. How horribly terrible and short sighted. Its a tragedy to ruin generation after generation for just one family to stay in power. Also opening so called “victory parks” to practically reinforce this hate by playing wargames like shooting and stabbing dummy armenian soldiers. I hope in the future these children will find love in their heart and be able to correct and heal from this abhorrent indoctrination.

    EDIT:

    > He adds that instilling hatred towards the enemy also exists in
“Armenia, which is an enemy of Azerbaijan” and “if they have it, we
    should have it too.”

Never have I ever heard of a school doing this. Its the same old false equivalence shit they use to justify all of their barbaric practices.

Beheading and mutilating people on video? “Armeniens do it too!”

Ask for evidence and they cant provide any and just say “they hide it better”. Yeah sure, pal… its CERTAINLY not the logical conclusion of this fucking indoctrination.

Even after the 2020 war where there where funerals in almost every street, People went out of their way to shield children from the reasons why their brothers died, which unfortunately is pretty fucking hard. The only thing on (almost) anyone’s mind was to let this horrible shit end and just live in peace. Armenia has experience with generational trauma and people will not risk traumatizing their children with this kind of vile toxic shit. The amounts of toasts to ALL the mothers who lost their boys in this horrific war were uncountable. Yes you will find a minority of people who harbor hate and that’s the tragic fucking conclusion of such wars. But to even suggest that Armenia indoctrinates children in the same way is just so laughably wrong, when one of the biggest exports of Armenia is a free flow education system for the youth to learn arts, design and programming which is getting implemented around the world in cities like Berlin etc. [https://tumo.org/](https://tumo.org/)
