Well done to them they get a lot of negative trolling it’s nice to be recognised for something positive achieved.
The timing is something. While the palace is dealing with a racism scandal, the members recognised for racial justice work is … oh.
In a previous age, aristocrats (including this guy’s immediate ancestors) were content to just go hunting and have mistresses. Now they feel the need to do things like this. It can only be part of a PR campaign, to make people not notice how absurd it is to still have aristocrats walking around like we’re still in the Middle Ages.
This is the modern version of what they used to condescendingly call “noblesse oblige”. That is that posh people are supposed to set an example to us all, because the likes of us don’t know the proper way to act.
