Shocking that 688 people can die homeless in this country. Especially when they were meant to be housed and safe during lockdown
This is some shit we should be taking to the streets for.
With the number of hidden homeless people and the difficulty in accurately counting the number of homeless people makes it very likely that 700 is an underestimate. We are still reluctant to admit the scale of the homeless crisis in the UK, so the government is not going to put its full effort into investigating homeless deaths.
Unfortunately this news brings great pleasure to a significant amount of people in this country.
Our attitude towards homeless people is gross in this country.
I’ve even seen horrible things said about them by people who otherwise consider themselves progressive and empathetic people.
Its its own category of dislike. Similar with travellers. There don’t seem to be many genuinely on board with fighting on their side and its tragic.
I want to know what caused their deaths? Were they sick and no one helped them? Did being homeless cause them to get pnemonia or worsening health? How the hell can this happen in an apparently developed country
Mondays daily mail :
Torys Have lowered Homless numbers
While The last Labour Government saw Homeless levels climb higher than those in 1949
The uncomfortable taboo subject that such a supposedly rich nation doesn’t want to talk about.
Walk around Belfast at night and you’ll see how bad homelessness can get.
In capitalism there always is losers and winners. It’s a system that isn’t working for many.
bit random… How many homeless people do they guestimate is in the kingdom of which is apparently united currently?
