Can’t help but feel that the only thing Vera Pauw may be guilty of is being too Dutch. Maybe Americans aren’t used to that level of bluntness.

  1. “and attempts to influence their eating habits”

Wow, unacceptable for a sports coach to advise on healthy eating.

I hope those stunning and brave players are feeling the wonderful and enhancing effects of a well earned big mac before they run down the wing.

  2. She wouldn’t be doing her job if she didn’t advise them on physical conditioning.

Despite what some believe healthy eating is a huge part of that.

Nobody’s winning the World Cup with a family bag of Galaxy Minstrels in their gob.

  3. Some people have pointed out that other coachs like Wenger have been praised for more or less the same thing, whereas Vera has been dragged over the coals with little in the way of investigation.

The fact the FAI and the team have publically backed her on this says a lot in her favour

  4. Heard bits of her interview with Nathan Murphy on OTB.

She puts up a strong defense, actually comes across affected by the accusations.

This will blow over, nothing to see here.

  5. It’s a weird take. Coaches will call you a fat fuck if you put on weight. This is no different for women nor should it be.

  6. Wenger arrives at Arsenal, bans chips from the canteen, hailed a hero. This isn’t a female athletes problem, it’s an American problem.
