Hello everybody,
So this summer I had the chance to visit portugal for few weeks and I had an amazing time in Porto, Lisboa and Albufeira.
While I was there, I tried to buy a tv (for around 700€) from that website : www.eletrodomesticosbaratos.pt
Unfortunately, they couldnot deliver on time and I had the order canceled.
So they sent me an email saying that they would send me the money back but nothing.
It has been more than 3 months now, I send them emails and they dont even answer me anymore and they didnt give me the money back.
So the question are :
– is this website correct and legit ?
– what can I do ?
I can obviously provide more details in private if needed.
Thank you,
Dieb

There’s so many red flags, Jesus… Why on earth someone drops 700€ on a sketchy website without confirming first?
Tough luck pal.
For sure. A lot of bad reviews online. [See some complaints on this website](https://portaldaqueixa.com/brands/eletrodomesticosbaratospt/complaints) (this is not an official complaint book, more of a social network).
Also the website is registered at a shell address in Estonia but the CVO according to LinkedIn is a dude with a Portuguese name. The declared company equity (capital? Not sure how it’s translated) is only 5000€ lol Sounds sketchy af.
Definitely report it to the police, maybe Direção Geral do Consumidor, if you don’t get your money back.
Yup
I’m using an extension called “Fakespot” – mainly for amazon reviews – but it immediately gave me a popup warning me about that site.
Did you pay with credit card?
Charge back limit on Visa is usually 120 days.
I see that they are using shopify to power their website, I would at least also open a complaint there: even if this ultimately won’t get your money back, it may prevent others from going through the same situation:

Yes, you did get scammed. No address, no company name, generic about us, etc.
Call your bank and have them start a chargeback process with the card’s network (VISA/Mastercard). Provide them the proof you have (email).

Only by seeing the website name, yes.
my reasoning htt..//cheap{whatever} or {whatever}cheap (the website is a portuguese version of that): website name designed to lure people (and with a bit of search engine optimization) who want it cheap and only look to prices without further thinking. It’s a lure for catching money.
You’ve been portuguesed.
Now it’s dealing.
Update for you all guys:
Thanks for all the answers. I somehow managed to talk to one of them on the phone and it looks like they actually and finally asked the payment platform “stripe” to proceed with the refund.
So yes, they did not do anything during the 3 months but it looks like I might finally be getting the money back in 15 days or so.
I will keep you updated.
Diebs.
hi, my advice for you is make a reclamation on this site:

is very easy. there already others reclamations and some were resolved.
but there others yet to be solved.
this is essencial a ghost company.
good luck mate.
By the Portuguese Law who have six months to press charges (starting from the purchase date), so don’t be late!
